CRAB

When it comes to crabs patterns I go overboard; maybe because we haven't found the perfect one, or maybe simply because there are so many different crabs. Each year I introduce new ones or improve the existing ones. I've had excellent feedback from any area where Permits were present, as well as Bonefish and Redfish. Many of us on the east coast have a lot of fun with Stripers when we target them in the flats.
Red’s Critters, Tarpon Crab and Turneffe Micro Crab are the latest additions to the crab family of EP Flies. If you look at them carefully, you will notice that these three crabs have characteristics that may easily interest others species such as large and smallmouth bass, big trout, and permit. A personal note about the Turneffe Micro Crab it works like a charm! I was at Turneffe Flats Lodge this past spring and all the colors worked very well on bonefish. Retrieve the fly slowly just so it moves and they will snap up the Micro Crab in a heartbeat!
